Wonderful Perfect Oatmeal
I broke in my new slow cooker. I put 1 cup of steel cut oats and 4 cups of water into the slow cooker at 9 PM. I set it to cook on low for about 3 1/2 hours... the warm setting to follow. I woke up to yummy oatmeal smells in the air. I was skeptical that it worked so I slowly lifted the glass lid. And there they were... perfectly cooked oats! I did a little dance of joy while the dogs wagged their tails and sniffed the air jealously.
I added walnuts, cinnamon, maple syrup and bananas... I can't wait to use this during the week. Each batch makes three breakfasts! Healthy mornings here I come!
